Newborn Hidden in Plastic Bag Suffocates

ROHNERT PARK, Calif. — A 17-year-old girl, whose parents said they never knew she was pregnant, gave birth to an 8-pound boy who died after the teen-ager hid the newborn in a plastic bag under the bathroom sink, police said Tuesday.
The mother, who apparently concealed her pregnancy and gave birth in the bathroom of her home on Easter Sunday, lost a great amount of blood and was in critical condition at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, police said.
After the girl was hospitalized, doctors told police to return to the family home to look for a baby.
