Church Group Protests Exhibit: A pornography-fighting Christian group in Washington is blanketing Congress with envelopes containing “filthy” pictures of homosexual acts from a taxpayer-funded art exhibit at Illinois State University. The American Family Assn. has sent envelopes marked “extremely offensive material enclosed” to the legislators. The envelopes contain reproductions of drawings and photos from the “David Wojnarowicz, Tongues of Flame” show that was mounted with a $15,000 federal grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. The group wants lawmakers to kill funding for the NEA grant.
