Dance in Lyon: Seventeen American dance companies will take part in more than 60 events representing the history of dance in America at the fourth Lyon Biennale de la Danse in Lyon, France, this fall. “An American Story: A Century of Dance in the United States” will be held Sept. 13 to Oct. 6. Invited to perform are the companies of Martha Graham, Merce Cunningham, Paul Taylor, Alvin Ailey, Bella Lewitzky, Trisha Brown, Lucinda Childs and Jose Limon. Also, the Lyon Opera Ballet will present a new dance choreographed to a Frank Zappa score.
