Penn State football Coach Joe Paterno says he believes the Nittany Lions will go into the Big Ten despite grumblings by some conference athletic directors and coaches.

Big Ten presidents invited Penn State to join the conference in December. The issue was then turned over to athletic directors to implement, including setting up a time table for conference play.

Several Big Ten athletic officials have questioned travel between the Midwest and Penn State.
