Pacific Scientific Co.: The Newport Beach manufacturer of industrial and aerospace products reported that net income for the first quarter rose 12% to $913,000, from $817,000 for the year-earlier period, which included an extraordinary gain of $515,000 from the repurchase of debentures. Sales increased 6% to $44.7 million from $42.4 million.
