Accident Eliminates Ojai Cyclist McNeil

Greg McNeil’s participation in the Tour de Trump bicycle race ended Saturday when the Ojai rider crashed and broke his collarbone within a kilometer of the finish of the 87.7-mile Fredericksburg-to-Richmond, Va., road race.

McNeil was 103rd overall in a field of 131 before the accident.

Meanwhile, Thurlow Rogers of Van Nuys moved to 98th in the overall standings. Rogers, 107th entering Saturday’s third stage, finished 113th in a time of 3 hours 53 minutes 14 seconds. Viatcheslav Bobrik of the Soviet Union won the stage in 3:50:11.
