Thousand Oaks Team Second in Doubles

Mater Dei High’s Jason Harnett and Adam Jarrett, who played doubles together for the first time this year only three weeks ago, won the Southern Section doubles title, 7-5, 7-6 (7-4), over Sean McKenna and Derek Shinden of Thousand Oaks on Saturday at SeaCliff Tennis Club in Huntington Beach.

Harnett and Jarrett teamed to reach the quarterfinals last year.

“They were a lot better than we expected,” Harnett said of the Lancer duo. “We didn’t think they’d be able to raise the level of their game that much.”

Brent Hansen-Dent of Newport Harbor defeated Ari Nathan of Brentwood in the singles final, 3-6, 6-0, 6-3.
