Transamerica Insurance Group in Woodland Hills appointed John E. King as national marketing manager in its commercial insurance division. The company is a property-casualty insurance unit of Transamerica Corp., a financial services concern based in San Francisco.

King formerly was vice president of marketing at American Universal Insurance Group in Rhode Island.
