Pay-Fone Systems Posts $4,300 Profit for Quarter

Pay-Fone Systems Inc., a Van Nuys payroll-processing business, reported a $4,300 profit for its fiscal third quarter compared with a year-earlier loss of $18,225.

The profit in the quarter that ended March 31 came despite a 10% decline in Pay-Fone’s revenue, to $1.46 million from $1.63 million a year earlier.

In the first nine months of Pay-Fone’s fiscal year, the company lost $8,012 compared with a loss of $10,762 a year earlier. Its nine-month revenue fell 7%, to $4.24 million from $4.56 million.
