Benton Oil & Gas Reports Loss for First Quarter

Benton Oil & Gas Co., a Ventura-based energy concern, reported a net loss of $227,826 on revenues of $303,460 for the first quarter ended March 31. A year earlier, Benton lost $102,178 on revenues of $12,367.
The company attributed the latest loss to higher costs associated with acquiring and completing oil and gas wells.
