SHORT TAKES : ‘Die Hard’ Forgives Wet Town

ALPENA, Mich. — The makers of the Bruce Willis action sequel “Die Hard 2: Die Harder” are ready to forgive Alpena for the rain.
The movie will be shown here July 3, a day before its national release.
Shooting had to be moved in March to the Alpena airport after warm weather melted the snow in Denver and Moses Lake, Wash. Then rain plagued filming in Alpena.
Director Renny Harlin ended up using refrigerated sound studios in Los Angeles to simulate a Christmas blizzard for the movie, which has Willis struggling against terrorists at an airport this time around.
