LOCAL : Novelist Wallace Hospitalized

Irving Wallace, who wrote the best-selling novels “The Chapman Report” and “The Prize,” was hospitalized in serious condition today with pancreatic cancer, a spokesman said.
Wallace, 74, entered Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Tuesday.
“He is in serious condition with pancreatic cancer,” said hospital spokesman Ron Wise. “His family is with him.”
Wallace’s wife, Sylvia, and children, Amy and David--who writes under the name Wallechinsky--are also authors of note.
