An unidentified man was struck by a car and killed as he ran across Interstate 5 on Saturday night, authorities said.
The man was hit by a northbound car about 11:45 p.m., Deputy Coroner Max Murphy said, about three miles south of the Basilone Road exit. The victim was dead at the scene, he said.
The driver of the car was not cited, according to the California Highway Patrol, which is investigating the incident.
