CUTBACK VICTIMS: A congressional subcommittee will conduct a public hearing at 9 a.m. Monday in the United Auto Workers Union Hall in Paramount on the impact of budget cuts in the local defense industry.
IN MEMORIAM: A public memorial service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. for three Pasadena Water and Power Department workers killed in an explosion July 12. The service will be at Ambassador Auditorium at 300 W. Green St. in Pasadena.
JUST SAY NO: The Los Angeles City Recreation and Parks Department on Wednesday will host its fifth annual “Just Say No to Drugs” fair from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Mar Vista Gardens Recreation Center, 4901 Marionwood Drive.
