McDonnell Douglas: McDonnell Douglas Space Systems Co. said Friday that its top executive has been promoted to oversee its parent company’s non-aerospace operations. Jim Dorrenbacher, formerly president of the Huntington Beach-based space systems unit, was named senior vice president-group executive over non-aerospace operations. He will replace James T. McMillan, who will retire Aug. 31. Kenneth A. Francis, formerly executive vice president of space systems, will be the new president of the company, effective Sept. 1.
