Soliman on Board: Anwar Soliman remains a high-profile figure in restaurant management circles.

The chairman of American Restaurant Group Inc. in Newport Beach and former head of Del Taco/Naugles Inc. has joined the board of California Beach Restaurants Inc., a newly renamed corporation that owns and operates two popular Los Angeles County eateries.

California Beach, based in the Pacific Palisades section of Los Angeles, will operate Gladstone’s 4 Fish near Malibu and R.J.’s--The Rib Joint in Beverly Hills. Gladstone’s, at the foot of Sunset Boulevard, is the top-grossing restaurant in the state and eighth-most popular in the nation. Formerly called I.H.V. Corp., California Beach obtained both restaurants last April from Restaurant Enterprises Group Inc. in Irvine.
