An Actor’s Skin

Washington’s point that there’s more to him than skin color must have completely eluded De Vries, who uses the word black in all but 12 of the article’s 35 paragraphs. And three of those 12 still make reference to race.

Considering Washington’s accomplishments, is his skin color really the only thing she found worth writing about?

I can’t help but wonder if when De Vries interviews DeNiro, Hoffman or Gibson we should expect to see the word white appear in two-thirds of her text.
