Kenya President Cuts Fees in Bid for Support

NAIROBI, Kenya — President Daniel Arap Moi revoked an unpopular medical fee scheme that made health care too expensive for many poor people.
Moi’s move was seen as aimed at winning back support for his government, badly shaken last month by political protests. Calls for a multiparty system erupted into riots that killed at least 20 people.
