HAWAII BOUND? Word’s out that the feds are ready to approve the Boeing 767 for long transoceanic flights, making flights to Honolulu from John Wayne Airport a strong probability. . . . The new airport terminal was designed for the wide-body jet, and local airlines are hungry for the lucrative route to Honolulu. . . . Competition is sure to be keen, for the plane’s noise probably will limit the number of flights.
