Motorists Respond to Boycott Calls: Drivers in a number of U.S. cities protested rising gasoline prices by refusing to buy fuel and driving with their headlights on. The motorists responded to pleas from radio stations to make Thursday a gas boycott day to protest gasoline price increases since the Aug. 2 Iraqi invasion of Kuwait. KGGI, the Riverside station that organized the effort, said about 40 stations nationwide took part. A Houston station backing the boycott said another 15 stations were taking part.
