* Thomas M. Becktold has been promoted from account executive in the Los Angeles office to manager of the Newport Beach office of Business Wire, a media relations wire service. Before joining Business Wire in 1988 as a news editor, Becktold worked for Hill & Knowlton, a public relations firm, and KHJ-TV in Los Angeles.
