Cavanaugh Passes Eagles to Victory Over Winless Colts

Matt Cavanaugh completed nine of 10 passes for 109 yards in the fourth quarter Monday night and set up Roger Ruzek’s 33-yard field goal with 1:56 to go, lifting the Philadelphia Eagles to a 17-16 exhibition victory over the Indianapolis Colts.

Cavanaugh, the third quarterback used by Philadelphia, was four for five for 55 yards as Philadelphia drove from its 18 with five minutes to go to the Colts’ 16 at the two-minute mark. Ruzek then hit the winning field goal.

Cavanaugh completed four consecutive passes for 54 yards on his first series as the Eagles (2-1) rallied from a 16-7 deficit in the final period. The Colts are 0-3.
