Romania’s Supreme Court overturned a lower court decision to free the youngest son of ousted dictator Nicolae Ceausescu because he is suffering from advanced cirrhosis of the liver. A military court in the Transylvanian town of Sibiu had decided last week to set Nicu Ceausescu free pending a verdict. He pleaded not guilty to “complicity to genocide” but admitted illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
