$5-Million Bail for Keating

Keating deserves what he is getting, but you failed to mention the Keating Five, which includes California Sen. Alan Cranston in your editorial “The $5-Million Message” (Sept. 20). What about state and federal regulators who were asleep at the wheel before and during this financial catastrophe, only to wake up long after the fox had totally ravaged the chicken coop? It is very convenient for the press, the public and especially politicians to single out one target without drawing the necessary, often embarrassing connections.
