1,000 Return to Homes as Fire at Plant Burns Out

MAGNOLIA, Tex. — About 1,000 people forced from their homes because of a fire at a nearby chemical plant were allowed to return home early Sunday, authorities said. Officials said the fire was allowed to burn itself out to protect firefighters and to prevent chemical runoff. The cause of the Saturday fire was being investigated.
