Oh, those poor filmmakers.
According to producer Stuart Birnbaum, “It’s a crime when you realize that so many good filmmakers don’t get to work because of a feeling that they’re too old.” Well, it’s a crime that we women have to share a world with 91-year-old men such as Bennett who maintain that a woman of 29 is “long in the tooth.”
