The Land Route to Houma

Getting there: “A Cajun Man’s Swamp Cruise” departs from the Bayou Black Marina in Houma, La., about a 1 1/2-hour drive west of New Orleans on U.S. 90. The marina is 16 miles west of the Houma Tourist Office.

When to go: Tours run year-round, except when the Cajun Man is on vacation. Call ahead for reservations.

Prices: $15 for adults, $10 for children 6 to 13 years; children under 6 free.
