Toshiba Corp.’s U.S. subsidiary in Irvine has begun exporting toner products for plain-paper copying machines to Western Europe.

The Tokyo-based company launched the exports after completion of most of a $17.5-million expansion program at its toner plant in Mitchell, S. D., and formation of a new Toner Product division.

The company said its subsidiary, Toshiba America Information Systems Inc., has put $13 million into the Mitchell plant since 1986.
