U.S. Mission in the Gulf

At last! Good news from the Persian Gulf: “Members of Army’s 1st Cavalry Division, wearing 19th-Century uniforms, present the colors during their unit’s change of command ceremony in Saudi desert. One officer rode a camel, instead of a horse” (caption to a large, beautiful color picture, front page, Oct. 29). Suggestion: Let’s make that 19th-Century pageant a yearly event, and at the same time get a little head start on solving world problems the 21st-Century way.
