Pasadena : Playhouse District Work

More work on the Playhouse District Specific Plan was approved Tuesday by City Directors, who awarded two contracts for further study of the eight-block area along Colorado Boulevard surrounding the Pasadena Playhouse.

Directors approved spending $10,500 for an economic analysis by Williams-Kuebelbeck & Associates and $27,500 for additional design work by Lyndon/Buchanan Associates.

Since February, a 13-member city task force has been meeting to devise ways of upgrading the playhouse district. The city has spent $257,520 studying the area, money that will be paid back from assessment fees on property owners in the district. A final proposal is expected in June.
