OJAI : Stolen Car Retrieved After Traffic Stop

Sheriff’s deputies recovered a stolen car Sunday in Ojai after stopping a motorist who was driving erratically, authorities said.
Robert Anthony Moreto, 30, of Oxnard was arrested on suspicion of auto theft and drunk driving, Ventura County Sheriff’s Lt. Gary Backman said.
Deputy Pat Ruby was on patrol at 1:30 a.m. when he noticed a 1991 Buick Regal turning a corner in the 200 block of East Ojai Avenue, Backman said. The driver cut the corner short and drove onto the sidewalk, Backman said.
Ruby stopped the car and discovered during a routine check of the license plate that the car had been reported stolen from Santa Monica on Oct. 19, Backman said.
