By now, after yet another heartbreaking loss, we Bruin fans can fill in the blanks to the following excuses: If only (blank) hadn’t fumbled. If only (blank) hadn’t thrown that interception. If only (blank) hadn’t made that great catch in the corner of the end zone. If only Terry Donahue hadn’t gone into the (blank) defense late in the game to protect the lead.
