Opera Postponed: Music Center Opera has postponed its new production of “Der Rosenkavalier,” originally scheduled for next season. In its place, the company will offer “Il Barbiere di Siviglia,” in a production directed by John Copley and designed by John Conklin, borrowed from the Lyric Opera of Chicago. According to a spokesman, the switch will save the company the expense of a new production in a recessionary time. Three other new productions and a world premiere are planned, however.
