AT&T; Says It Has Funds for NCR Takeover: The nation’s largest telephone company said more than 50 major U.S. and international banks have pledged commitments for the $6.1-billion hostile takeover move on NCR Corp. launched last week. AT&T; said it could issue short-term notes backed by the commitments or draw directly on its credit line. AT&T; said that because its credit line is fully subscribed, it is closing the offer four days early.
