Former Official’s Comments on Grand Juries Misleading

The Jan. 6 article regarding former county Supt. of Schools Robert Peterson (“Peterson Leaves the Office but Not the Arena”) included quotations from Peterson regarding the Orange County Grand Jury system.
These statements attributed to Peterson are without truth or foundation. The grand juries in Orange County have been providing an outstanding and nonpolitical oversight responsibility based on factual investigation for more than 100 years. Peterson’s comments are not only false and misleading but do a disservice to every individual who ever sat on a county grand jury.
