In New York, the Dow Jones average of 30 industrials turned upward. Analysts said the stock market’s three-week-old rally was likely to continue.
In Tokyo, the Nikkei Stock Average of 225 selected issues gained 204.46 points, or 0.82%, closing at 25,139.47. On Tuesday, the index rose 638.93 points.
