This new law sends Big Brother government on a collision course with constitutionally protected rights such as the parent-child relationship, freedom of religion and even rights to privacy. This law begs a constitutional court and/or referendum challenge.
Sadly, authors of the measure made Swiss cheese of the portion which affirms parents’ rights through parental consent for abortion. These loopholes effectively grant minors unlimited abortion for birth control and gender selection.
The pro-abortion measure is not only cruel to women and unborn babies, it is poor public policy. Typically, an environmental impact report is done when it is needed. In this instance, a pain and suffering report is needed. Does one really think that a 5-month unborn baby doesn’t feel pain when it’s burned to death by a saline solution or torn apart by an abortionist’s scalpel?
