Rams Sign Wilson as Free Agent

From Staff and Wire Reports

The Rams began replenishing their depleted defensive lineup with the signing of Karl Wilson, a Plan B free agent left available by the Miami Dolphins.

Wilson, 26, 6 feet 4 and 275 pounds, apparently was one of the most sought-after players in Plan B and, according to Ram defensive coordinator Jeff Fisher, will get every chance to win the open starting left defensive end spot.

Wilson, one of only a handful of players to switch teams since the Plan B period opened Feb. 1, was given a two-year deal to join the Rams, plus a signing bonus believed to be more than $100,000.

Wilson, who recorded four sacks last season for the Dolphins, was a third-round draft choice of the San Diego Chargers from Louisiana State in 1987.
