Studios, Networks Fail to Set Meeting Date: The networks and studios failed to set a meeting date to resume private negotiations in the ongoing issue of allowing the networks to earn profits from syndicated TV program reruns. The FCC urged the warring parties to negotiate a private settlement before the FCC votes on the matter April 9. Network sources said major studios had blocked an attempt at direct contact with independent producers.
