Slaying of Black in Korean Market

It’s no wonder that the police beat up and maim a black man for no apparent reason. It’s no wonder that a headline in The Times read “Slain Girl Was Not Stealing Juice, Police Say” (March 19). And it’s no wonder that the top moneymaking films of the week are “Silence of the Lambs,” “New Jack City” and “Sleeping With the Enemy.” Does art mirror life, or is it vice versa? In either event it doesn’t say much for society in the ‘90s. And it makes me very sad.
