Fabricland to Discuss Merger: The company, which had rejected an unsolicited takeover offer from House of Fabrics Inc. in Sherman Oaks, said it now will discuss a merger. But Fabricland, based in Portland, Ore., cautioned that there isn’t any assurance a deal will be struck. Fabricland earlier rejected as inadequate House of Fabrics’ tender offer of $13.50 a share, or $44 million. Both companies operate retail chains selling fabrics and sewing notions.
