Coca-Cola Co.: The world’s biggest soft-drink company reported first-quarter profits of $320 million, a 15% increase from $279 million a year ago. The Atlanta-based company had revenue of $2.48 billion, up 15.5% from $2.15 billion last year. The company said the higher profits were largely generated by a 6% increase over last year in retail sales outside North America.
