Schneider Ready to Raise Offer for Square D: French electrical equipment maker Schneider S.A. said it is ready to discuss paying more to buy Square D Co., which is fighting Schneider’s $1.96-billion hostile takeover bid. Square D said it was reviewing the invitation. The Palatine, Ill.-based company is the American market leader in residential fuse boxes and other residential electrical distribution equipment.
