Major Contract for LTV Corp.: The Dallas-based steel and aerospace company won a $1.5-billion order from Boeing Co. to make sections of 747 jumbo jets, as well as for 757 and 767 airliners. It came one day after Dallas-based LTV made its first formal proposal to end a nearly five-year struggle in bankruptcy reorganization proceedings.
