Gary J. North has been appointed president...

Gary J. North has been appointed president of Matson Terminals Inc. and James S. Sells president of Matson Intermodal Systems Inc., subsidiaries of Matson Navigation Co. of San Francisco.

North joined Matson in 1987 as vice president and area manager for Hawaii. In 1989, he was promoted to vice president and general manager of operations at Matson Navigation.

Sells was named vice president and general manager of Matson Intermodal System in 1988.
