Ricardo Patrese of Italy won the pole position for today’s Mexico City Grand Prix for Formula One cars. Patrese lapped the 2.747-mile circuit at 128.115 m.p.h., more than a second faster than Williams-Renault teammate Nigel Mansell of Britain.
