Japanese Record Firm Plans U.S. Unit: Victor Musical Industries, the record division of Japanese electronics giant JVC, will launch an American subsidiary label called Victory Music Inc. The move marks the first time a Japanese record company has set up operations in the United States. Polygram will distribute the label, which represents such acts as David Bowie’s Tin Machine, and Emerson, Lake and Palmer.
