PIRU : Man Pulled From Lake Dies at Hospital

A 26-year-old Moorpark man died at a Santa Clarita hospital early Monday after he was pulled from Lake Piru on Sunday.
J. Carmen Herrera was swimming with friends at the lake when he went under water about 4 p.m., said Ventura County sheriff’s Lt. Joe Funchess. A lifeguard found him on the bottom of the lake, brought him to the surface and began resuscitation efforts.
Herrera died at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital in Santa Clarita.
