Pair of Quakes Hit Yugoslavia, Romania

BELGRADE, Yugoslavia — Two moderate earthquakes rocked parts of eastern Yugoslavia and western Romania today, wrecking dozens of houses. There were no reported injuries.
The Belgrade Seismological Institute said the first quake measured a magnitude 4.6 and the second a magnitude 4. The epicenter of both quakes was near Plandiste, 60 miles east of Belgrade.
The area, on the Yugoslav-Romanian border, has experienced at least 12 temblors since July 12.
