NO JAILBREAKS HERE: Of the “inmates” doing county work-furlough time for public offenses such as drunk driving and petty theft, 95% complete their sentencing without breaking the rules, the County Probation Department says. . . . Instead of spending all their time in jail, furlough participants serve their sentences after work and on weekends in jail, program hotels or at home under electronic surveillance. “We’re very selective with who is in this program and there are a lot of incentives to stay in,” a spokesman says.
